NBC orders scripts for Friday Night Lights
NBC has ordered six scripts for Friday Night Lights, the critically acclaimed freshman drama series that has struggled in the ratings. The show has not yet been renewed. The early order of scripts for Lights and Medium, which received a similar order earlier this week, could be an attempt by the network to bank episodes in the event of a possible writers strike, but historically, script orders have been a good indicator that a show will be renewed.
[Ed. note: Does it show how old I am that I am now going to search the internet for a pic of Kyle Chandler, the dad on this show, rather than a picture of one of the “hot” young football players. Sorry, but me likey the hot dad. Interestingly, Kyley-poo is 12 years older than I am, while Matt Seracen, Tim Riggins, and Jason Street are only 5, 4, and 2 years younger, respectively. Maybe it’s just a sign that I don’t dig cradle robbing; these are supposed to be high school kids, people. You know, just like Andrea Zuckerman and Steve Sanders.]
